This past fall, Jeremy and I built a 24×24 garage. Yup. From the ground up. That included taking out a couple of trees (One by ourselves and the other we brought in professionals). We did everything ourselves except for the concrete foundation and slab and the door installation. Once the garage was up we could finally get rid of the ugly little red shed that was rotting and contained mice nests and tons of spider egg sacks.

I have lots pictures and such, but with finishing up my masters, actually building the garage, shooting weddings with the lovely Mandy Sroka and then the holidays, I just haven’t had a chance to get them up. Jeremy has put up some updates on his website, lots of photos in his gallery, and the complete story including comments from the peanut gallery can be viewed here at the garage journal.

I know I am so slow putting up posts about the updates in my house. Sorry, it is just so hard to paint, hold the camera for pictures and blog about it at the same time! So I will slowly be adding in our renovation stories as I find time. Here is a small improvement that Jeremy added just for me somewhat recently that I really enjoy!

At work the other day we were sharing engagement and wedding stories around the lunch table.  This inspired me to do a few things. One,  I went to my jeweler and got my rings cleaned and polished! Boy, do they shine. I have the best jeweler ever, family owned, wonderful people, Berman’s Jewelers. Second, I wanted to share my engagement story with you, my faithful listener, the Internet. Jeremy played on the alum team in the UMBC round robin tournament a couple of weekends ago.  I didn’t play because I went to a bridal shower that afternoon, but I stopped over for a bit to snap some shots. I love action shots!

We are finally doing it! My husband and I are buying a house. We have been looking around for a while and we finally found one in a good location, in good shape and for a decent price!

So today started off normally . . . late to church (40 minutes away), sneaking in the side door. We took Jeremy’s bug. There was a picnic thing-er-ma-jiggy after church and we played some volleyball with Matt and Damien. As we fired up the bug to go home, Jeremy jumps out claiming to hear some weird noise. After some explaining, I heard it too. We couldn’t find the culprit so we decided just to drive home carefully. You live and learn, I suppose.
