Faith, Hope and Charity

After standing in freakishly long lines to buy a metro ticket and after an hour fifteen metro ride, we finally arrived at the Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. just before the starting time at 10AM. Armed with lots of water and my stalker lenses, I tried to get some fun shots of the festivities. Enjoy!

It was a wee bit crowded. And these folks cant even see the Lincoln Memorial.

Crowd shot.

Flag hat, flag shirt, little flag tucked under his arm, large flag in his hands.

All dressed up ...

What is the way to the abode of light?

Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?

On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-
while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb,
when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,
when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,
when I said, ‘This far you may come and no ...

Sneak Peek: Waiting to Meet their First Son!

Jaime and her husband Matt let me use them as models to experiment with some new lighting and techniques as well as be my very first maternity shoot! Jaime is a BEAUTIFUL mom, and I can’t wait to meet her new son when he arrives. Here is a sneak peek at a couple of shots from our session. Many thanks to Loews Hotel of Annapolis who kindly allowed us to shoot in their lobby when our original shoot location of Quiet Waters Park was being drenched in rain!

Nerd.

I am a total nerd. I got this t-shirt for 3 bucks even though I really have no need for a new t-shirt; I have too many as it is! My natural habitat is jeans, a t-shirt and flip-flops. And a hoodie if it’s cold. Blast having a real job in the real world where I need to wear real clothes. Anyhow . . . I love my new shirt. Don’t judge, you are just jealous because you wish you could pull off such an awesomely cute and nerdy shirt ...

The Cutest Little One Ever

Some little ones remind me that I want to have kids of my own one day. Julie is one just the cutest little girl ever. I got to play with her at our dear friend’s housewarming party. Julie was enjoying some chocolate in case you couldn’t tell.

She loved smiling for my camera and kept saying “take my picture, take my picture, again!”

She also didn’t like that I took a photo of her dirty face so we wiped it clean and then she blew me a kiss.

She also wanted a photo ...

Running Away

Several months ago, I decided to try something new. Noticing a bit of pudginess increasing in myself, I decided to run a 5K. I had also decided to visit a dear friend of mine in Illinois, so to be efficient, I combined the two goals and signed up to run in Christie Clinic Illinois 5K (which was actually just a tag on to the big event, the marathon).

I spent two months training, similar to the couch to 5k program, starting from a terrible place of running/walking about 1.8 miles in ...

Yay for Lauren!

My dear sister graduated from Geneva College in December so in May my family headed up to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania for the ceremony and a few weeks after that we celebrated with a party!

The ceremony was outside, a bit chilly, but beautifully sunny. The students, of course, had a little fun!

The school had a little meet and greet after where the faculty from each department milled about under tents for the students to catch before they left. We snagged a few shots there under the trees.

I am so proud of ...

Bubbles Make me Happy

Even though I have been neglecting my blogging duties, I have not been neglecting my camera at all! My dear friends Justin and Karena brought their two adorable little girls to a nearby park to play and to get some portraits. I brought bubbles and good times were had by all! I got some decent shots, and until I get caught up on my editing, let me just leave you with this one amazing shot.

You can actually see the bubble mid-burst! Crazy! I will post more photos soon, and yes, ...

I finally Understand Purses

I never really understood the draw of purses. Why do women own so many and why are they willing to spend so much money on a bag?! All the purses I own were gifts, and I pretty much just use the one every day.
Well, now that I want to carry my camera and all its paraphernalia around, I get it. I need one bag for storage and long travel (flights), another bag for hiking (probably a backpack of sorts), a messenger style bag for casual day trips, something a little ...
