This past fall, Jeremy and I built a 24×24 garage. Yup. From the ground up. That included taking out a couple of trees (One by ourselves and the other we brought in professionals). We did everything ourselves except for the concrete foundation and slab and the door installation. Once the garage was up we could finally get rid of the ugly little red shed that was rotting and contained mice nests and tons of spider egg sacks.

I have lots pictures and such, but with finishing up my masters, actually building the garage, shooting weddings with the lovely Mandy Sroka and then the holidays, I just haven’t had a chance to get them up. Jeremy has put up some updates on his website, lots of photos in his gallery, and the complete story including comments from the peanut gallery can be viewed here at the garage journal.

Jeremy also put together some really awesome videos read on! »

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Just to keep up with the busy theme, the week before Thanksging I was in St. Pete Beach, FL for a work trip. I got back on that Thursday before the holiday. In the next few days leading up to Thanksgiving I helped my brother-in-law move into his first home, I hosted a wedding shower, I saw my dear friends’ new baby, I met with a prominent photographer from the area and I shot my first solo wedding at the Ellicott City court house. It was a busy few days to say the least! To tide you over until after my last final and last class project EVER are over this upcoming week, here are few of the baby shots that I was able to snag.

So four months ago, on Friday, March 13th, 2009,  Jeremy and I sat in a little conference room with a basket of pens and another of little candies in front of us. Trent was sitting across from us as he and Jeremy were munching on some fresh chocolate chip cookies, while I sipped some tea. There was another guy there. We made small talk as we waited for a fifth guy, Sean who was scuttling in and out of the conference room with various papers. Occaisionally he would put four of five copies of a paper in front of Jeremy and I, and we would sign them. Sometimes he would hand something to the other guy or to Trent. We asked a few questions, but had already sorted most of the stuff out, so there weren’t really any questions left. Sean finally comes back and says ‘that’s it, you can go now.’
